Discover Lucie Nyota’s journey as an author, storyteller, and speaker
I am Lucie Nyota, an author, writer, Behavior Technician, and storyteller. I create books and conversations that explore identity, resilience, belonging, freedom, and the quiet courage it takes to become yourself.
For a long time, I understood that our experiences leave marks on us—some visible, others quietly shaping how we see ourselves and imagine our future.
Writing gave me a way to understand those marks, recognize my strength, and embrace the truth that our identity is ours to define. Our stories may begin in circumstances we did not choose, but we can choose what we build from them.
That belief is at the heart of my memoir, The Foreign Fingerprint. The book grew from lived experience and a desire to connect with those who have felt displaced, misunderstood, or uncertain about where they belong. Its questions are universal: Who am I? Where do I belong? And how do I find freedom without forgetting where I came from?
Today, I write to connect, inspire honest conversations, and remind readers that they are not alone. I believe resilience is more than enduring—it is learning, rebuilding, and continuing to believe in the possibility of a meaningful life.
Your story is not a weakness. Your voice is not too small. What once made you feel foreign may become the very fingerprint that gives someone else hope.

Lucie is associated with light. Nyota means star.
Together, the name reflects the heart of Lucie’s work: a belief that even in unfamiliar or difficult seasons, light can guide us, stories can connect us, and hope can help us move forward.
Thank you for being here. I hope my work reminds you that there is dignity in your journey, power in your voice, and more possibility ahead than you may be able to see today.
